Not to be picky, but Pym didn’t kill the woman…he prolonged the fight by shooting her in the back, but Cap defused the situation, and she went back to wherever it was she came from.

The problem with bringing back Wanda is, she’s entered Phoenix territory. It’s not just the Crazy Lady, it’s the All-Powerful Crazy Lady, and that’s a problem, creatively. Just as whenever Jean Grey came back, nobody could look at her without worrying Phoenix might return (and the writers continually played that up), Wanda will face the same thing. It’s not just that she killed some folks, it’s that the creators suddenly made her as powerful as a Cosmic Cube, and no one’s going to ever forget that (and you can bet dollars to donuts that 90% of writers would constantly play the “is she slipping back into omnipotent insanity” game, at least once per issue). Once a character has become that powerful, even if it’s only temporary, no one is going to be satisfied with the standard soap opera storylines anymore. Unless we ended up very lucky, whoever ends up writing her will inevitably be running the countdown clock on “Return Of Dark Wanda.” They’re not going to let her go back to being Just Wanda, anymore than Jean could ever be Just Jean for longer than a handful of issues.
