I admit that in general there are certain popular tropes (post-apocalypse, zombies, robot pirate ninja monkeys) that I'm not crazy about, but having ignored Wildstorm for the past few years I found the first issue of DnA's Authority to be perfectly accessible and enjoyable. My biggest complaint about it was the fore-knowledge that the writers have signed a Marvel exclusive and will be leaving in six issues or so. I'm not sure how much they can do with the concept in that short window. I also admit that I haven't picked up any issues since the first, and that I'm not as into the general concept/execution of the Authority as you, so that may have colored my level of affection.
