Michael Rawdon: Hrm. Clones. Robots. Skrulls. Time displaced? EVIL versions? These are not altogether unheard of options...

CalvinPitt: It's like the big serious point of the books got set aside when they realized it wasn't catching on and just went for the blammo. Not that I'm against Blammo, I just think it was advertized poorly.

Again, I am not ruling out any of the above.

That's a good point. Of course, more and more Civil War seems to be coming off as mach posturing between super-dudes, so I suppose it's a logical extension. Plus Marvel probably figures fans don't want to see the heroes argue the ideals at stake, as much as we want to see Iron Man use some sound doohickey to incapacitate Cap so he can be thrown in jail.

Also, I think Reed is a clone Tony made from a strand of his hair, while Tony has moved past booze, and gone straight to LSD, or that Venom stuff from DC or something.

Not to mention that it's hard to swallow Tony Stark or Reed Richards getting behind the registration act in the first place.

Maybe they've been replaced by Skrulls?
